Boston Center’s Annual Footsteps Tour
The 2024 tour took place on Sunday, Sept. 15. Check in for the tour began at 12:15 p.m. at the Boston Center. The group boarded the bus at 12:45 p.m. and returned to the Boston Center at 6 p.m.
Prepayment was required to secure a seat on the bus. Space is limited, so we recommended early registration. The cost was $40 per adult and $10 per child 12 and younger, which helped defray the cost of the bus rental. We accepted payment by cash and check.
Registration for the 2024 tour closed on Sept. 4. Watch this page for information about the 2025 tour! For more information, please write to boston.srf@gmail.com.
More About the Footsteps Tour
The Boston Center of SRF has established the tradition of hosting a pilgrimage bus tour to the places in the Boston area where Paramahansa Yogananda lectured, visited and stayed during his early years in America. Each year, the bus tour is scheduled for the Sunday before Sept. 19, the date The City of Sparta docked in Boston Harbor in 1920. A publication, In the Footsteps of Paramahansa Yogananda, containing many of the locations visited on the tour is available below.
Sri Daya Mata, our past president of Self-Realization Fellowship, wrote this letter to the Boston Center, stating,
“Although it has been many years since he walked the streets of Boston, Guruji is ever in your hearts, a living loving presence that will become more real to you as you meditate deeply and practice his teachings.”
